Look, I’m not trying to perpetuate a myth or something about our chaotic Bro Merc, but literally the second it actually went into full blown retrograde overnight, my phone started to glitch tf out.
While things only have power if you give them power, there are some unquestionable truths about Mercury Retrograde that I experience time and again:
Tech & communication issues being one.
And this here being the other:
Forget that milkshake, Mercury Retrograde brings all the boys to the yard. You can time the transit by the all the “how you doin?” “wyd?” & “thinking about you” texts and calls that suddenly increase. 😅
Merc Retro goes full Retrograde December 29-January 19, followed by a cooling off period called post shadow. This particular transit though feels a little different. The 9’s here feel more about completion than anything else.
It’s interesting that we start 2023 with both Mercury and Mars in retrograde as this invites us to reflect and reassess rather than dive into our resolutions and projects from the ball drop. Almost feels like New Years Day vibes are delayed.
2022 has been a HELL of a year, so I think we all need an extended sabbatical to think about wtf all just happened.
Venus in Capricorn at the moment takes our self valuation seriously and doesn’t allow for investments into anything or anyone beneath that.
Venus then slips into Aquarius a few days after the New Year and Jupiter just went into Aries a couple of days ago. Mars goes direct in Gemini January 12th, about a week before Mercury. Air and Fire are heavily represented by these transits.
As the Merc Retro fog clears, we will be moving towards seeing things unfold beneficially as the month progresses. Our interpretation of what we value about ourselves, our resources, and our relationships will evolve towards a higher more heart centred space.
But before we can truly understand where we are going, we have to look back and see how far we’ve come and decide what we really want to move forward with and squash the rest.
Will we settle for good enough? Or will we take the leap of faith for that unknown and uncharted Divine direction?
Merc Retro is a time when old things come back for a revisit, a deeper healing, and/or a cosmic test. You may find old relationship partners/flings suddenly feeling nostalgic and coming back for a another shot.
This particular transit I’m also seeing old things come back for closure. You may find yourself having difficult vulnerable conversations to let things go with finality and unconditional love rather than leaving things ghosted.
Things are going to be ascending to new heights next year. It’s important to do so with as few threads to the past as possible.
We simply can’t pick flowers when we are still holding weeds. It’ll ruin the scent.
Will you hang onto things that fill a void or fulfill your soul’s calling? You simply can’t have both. And that’s the leap of faith, of radical honesty, of self commitment, we are being asked of, with this transit.
So when Merc Retro brings all the boys/babes to the yard this time, think from your heart, not your groin. Your soul has way too many things to do this year than repeat cycles.
